Midsomer Norton and Clevedon were both relegated from Western Counties North to provide strong opposition. Meanwhile Nailsea & Backwell 2nds come up as champions of Somerset 3 North, whilst Castle Cary are also promoted from Somerset 3 South as their league winners Weston Hornets 3rds are prevented from coming up since Hornets 2nds are already in our league.
Another new name in the league sees the formation of Rebels RFC who last season played under the banner of Huish Tigers but have since been rebranded.
As a result of these newcomers, 3 teams from last season have been relegated, namely St Bernadettes, Weston 2nds and Yatton. Last season's champions Taunton 2nds have been promoted to Western Counties.
With a third of the teams in the league having changed, it certainly has the potential to freshen up the fixtures and to present some new challenges.
The other teams remaining from last season when Avon finished in 3rd place are Chew Valley 2nds, Hornets 2nds, Imperial, Minehead Barbarians, Oldfield and Wells.
