90 years. 20 years. 10 years. History commemorated in special match.

An historic celebration took place at Avon rugby club last weekend as the club staged a friendly match between a Coach's invitation team against a Captain's select team as part of their 90th anniversary celebrations.

An unique feature of Club Coach Clive Book's team saw him turn out alongside his 5 sons for the first time. Clive, who is approaching his 20th year as Avon's coach, appeared with sons Kane, Sam, Kye, Zak and Scott.

The match itself was full of entertaining rugby played in beautiful autumnal conditions and well refereed by local official and ex-Avon player Wayne Davis in his inimitable style of poacher turned gamekeeper.
